I have uploaded a datafile for FBA 0.2.96.86.

n.b. This has also affected the Neo-Geo datafile (Universe BIOS v2.3 added) and the SuperSet datafiles.

Recent emulators and supplements - forcepacking

I have updated the recent emulators and supplements so that they include the appropriate "forcepacking" information.

Some emulators only support ZIP files (not unzipped ROMs in a directory) so the data files will now enforce it.

For a while I have noticed that the built in audit has been showing some games in red (mslug4, kof2001 and some PGM games) so I decided to look into it tonight. It turns out that the emulator doesn't like ROM names >20 characters long when they are inside a ZIP file.

I have therefore adapted the main datafile so that it doesn't contain any names >20 characters long. I have also enhanced the supplement so that ROMs with a name >20 characters long in MAME are duplicated in the supplement but with the shorter name that Nebula expects.

The result is a clean audit, so long as you put your Nebula rompath before the MAME / SuperSet rompath.

I noticed that the emulator contains an error within the ROM information that it exports and in one instance, it doesn't match the ROMs actually loaded (The New Zealand Story - Bootleg).

I have therefore renamed a couple of ROMs in my datafile to work around the bug.

Whilst I was at it, I slightly enhanced the supplement so that the emulator will not report any missing games. Well, except for kgpe but I'll deal with that another time!

What version of RomCenter do you use?

I would like to determine what versions of RomCenter are out in the wild.

At some point I would like to stop creating the old format datafiles and just supply the XML format for RomCenter 3.

What version of RomCenter are you using?

I have added csclubjr from FBA v0.2.96.85 and fixed the supplements for M1 so that they now work with the emulator!
